What needs to be done by drivers during the period of hire:
Section 1: Driver Responsibilities
When renting one of our vehicles, we expect you, the driver, to do the following:
on a Weekly basis:
(i) Ensure weekly rental is paid every Monday. A £10 charge will be applied for every day the rent is not paid on time.
(ii) Check the vehicle’s tyre for roadworthiness, tyre pressure and oil level (and where appropriate top up the engine oil) and advise
Rent a Cab (London) Ltd of any problems immediately.
(iii) Email/hand in to Rent a Cab (London) Ltd a valid Insurance cover note to cover the rental period.
(iv) Report any problems with the vehicles immediately to Rent a Cab (London) Ltd on Tel: 0208 432 3026 or 07527 346 709.
(v) Bring the vehicle back for a check and maintenance service, where necessary every 90 days.
(vi) Ring Rent a Cab London on the 1st of each month to advise of the current mileage.
Section 2: In case of BREAKDOWN:
(i) If you have taken the optional breakdown cover, call AA directly on 0800 887 766, quoting the reference no provided and the AA will
come to assist you.
If the vehicle needs to be towed back to the garage please bring the vehicle back to our offices at 47a-49 Wanstead Park Rd, Ilford. IG1
3TG.
(ii) If you haven’t opted for the optional breakdown cover, please ensure you recover the vehicle (at your own cost) back to our garage at the rear of 47a - 49 Wanstead Park road, Ilford, IG1 3TG.
(iii) We will ensure we get you back on the road within 24 hours of the breakdown occurring. The 24 hour period start from when the vehicle is back at our garage in Ilford. You will be offered a replacement vehicle (if one is available) after the initial 24 hrs has elapsed. Please Note:
The hirer has to pay any insurance charges that their insurance company asks for to swap over the insurance. Rent a Cab (London) Ltd will not charge you for the day(s) that the vehicle is not running
Section 3: Weekly Payments
Weekly rent is to be paid on time every MONDAY either at our office or directly in our bank account.

Section 4: Parking Ticket procedure
1. A £10 charge will be levied upon the Hirer/driver of the vehicle which incurs a penalty charge notice (PCN) for which Rent a Cab London Ltd has to fill in and send off representations for, in order to transfer the liability of the PCN.
The £10 fee is to cover for administrative time to process the PCN.
Section 5: Minimum Rental period
The minimum contract for hire is 8 weeks for vehicles, which are registered between 2003-2007.
The minimum contract for hire is 12 weeks on vehicles. (2008-2009 cars)
The minimum contract for hire is 12 weeks on vehicles. (2010-2013 cars)
In case of an accident, the Hirer is liable and has to continue paying his weekly rent until the insurance settles the claim fully.
If case of any damages to the vehicles, during the period of hire, the hirer will be liable to pay for all the cost incurred in repairing that vehicle.
Section 6: What Rent a Cab (London) Ltd DOES NOT cover?
1. Tyre cover is NOT included:
Due to the nature of the business, We DO NOT cover tyres/tyre damage on any of our PCO hire vehicles during the period of hire.
Tyre Cover: If the driver has opted for and pays the £5 tyre cover each week and keeps the vehicle for the minimum period of 8/12
weeks then we will provide you with replacement tyres. Please note that we will only supply you with second hand tyres, as a replacement.
We are not responsible for and do not cover tyre punctures of any kind and/or damage to tyres due to the Hirer’s negligence (such as
hitting the kerb and damaging the tyre walls). The Hirer will have to pay for and replace the damaged tyres.
2. Consumables: Exclusion
Rent a Cab London Ltd will provide you with a vehicle with all lights/ light bulbs working. However during the period of Hire, it is the responsibility of the Hirer to change and replace any bulbs which are not working.
3. Engine damage due to negligence (such as driving and not topping up the engine oil or water as necessary)
4. Any problems with the vehicle/s not reported immediately (within 1 hour) to Rent a Cab (London) Ltd.
5. Recovery of the vehicles where no AA cover has been taken. The Hirer will be expected to pay for the recovery of the vehicle back to Rent a Cab (London) Ltd’s premises in 47a-49 Wanstead Park Rd, Ilford. IG1 3TG.
If hirers don’t have their own live AA cover (which covers any cars), they need to take a weekly AA cover from Rent a Cab (London) Ltd, available at a fixed rate of £4 per week without exception.
6. Any PCN (parking and road traffic offences) incurred. These will be passed onto the Hirer as set out in our Terms and conditions.
Section 7: RETURNS Procedure:
What do Hirers need to do when returning the car?
1. Ring Rent a Cab (London) Ltd to advise that you will be returning the car at least a week before and advise of the date of return. Please
remember that you need to have satisfied the minimum 8/12 weeks rental period before returning the vehicle. We only hire vehicles on a
weekly basis and if vehicles are returned earlier, a full weeks rent will still be charged.
2. Ensure there is enough petrol/diesel in the vehicle and the reserve light is NOT on, otherwise a £20 charge will be levied and deducted from your deposit.
3. Ensure that the vehicle is returned in a clean state, else a £20 cleaning charge will be levied and deducted from your deposit.
4. Remember that your deposit will be returned back to you, by cheque/BACS, 2 weeks after the end of your contract. Please ensure we have the correct address for you on our system.
5. Deposit will be returned 2 weeks after the end of the Hire, in order to cover any outstanding Road Traffic offences incurred during the period of hire.

Saturday: 9am – 1pm
Sunday: Closed
